Secret Tickets

okay … it’s been busy few hours … with such a wonderful feedback and interest … many many thanks :)

After the many lovely comments received I have decided to give the Secret Ticket a bit of a different face .. that’s why it took so long for me to let you know the details.

Anyway with the tickets being sent out at the moment I will now let you know more.
For those who took time to checkout the bohemiansecret website and still are not sure about having the Secret revealed or simply can’t afford it. each one of the Secret Tickets will give you a generous discount to purchase The Secret ..

The idea came after reading so many times about google ranking and placing websites in google search. I thought this way would be a nice way how to get a bit more traffic to the sites of other photographers .. and help on their way of being placed on google … as well as I want to keep my promise and keep the Secret affordable :) while sharing the great work of others.

So here are first four ticket holders … visit their blog in chance to receive the Secret Ticket .. and with it access to all I do when creating a B&W image …

    I don’t know what to write first(my head buzzing around non-stop)..i just looked at my friends materity shoots, which then led to nfedesign’s site, and it was there that i got something ‘click’ with me again, something that i haven’t felt for such a long time. I told my husband. I replied to my friend. To tell her that her photographer Renee has inspired me to get creative behind the lens again… and then i found the secret…what could it be (frantically reading and clicking and watching over and over - the look, the music, the moment, the feelings, the words were being silently said. I noticed my heart was thumping in my chest as i tried to get closer..i don’t even know what it is! but i know that its something that will feed this ‘click’ and tell the story of me, and my beautiful new family.

nothing stays sacred

first time he surprised me he was about 5months old .. and he crawled the length of about 8metres along the hallway to look for his older brothers in a room where they hid … at six months he started sharing kisses and waving goodbye
another surprise came at about 9months when he started playing with a marble run … after watching his oldest brother .. he put the marble on the top and watched it drop down … I though what a coincidence but not .. he did it over and over ..
it’s been 2weeks and three days that he has turned 1year … I heard someone blowing a recorder and went to remind the person that it’s a musical instrument not a blow whistle … well it was our lovely Selwyn .. I don’t get surprised much anymore … nothing stays sacred for him
.. but I thought I share this one … he pushed the stool to the bench in order to get what he wanted … no yummy broccoli no no … strawberry jam my dear … that’s something .. (how did he know .. I have no idea because he never got any before) well that’s about 12months and 17days today … I am sure there is more to come with this one ..

for those patiently waiting for the Secret … watch out .. it’s coming soon .. very soon ..

The Journey

Thank you everyone who stopped by and left a comment or send me a private message or email .. I got overwhelmed with your heartful response and still have lots of emails and messages to answer.

Thank you Rosie for sharing your SOOC image with me. I feel very honored and happy to be able to use it. … by the time I woke up I found many offers in my mailbox. To be fair I have opened only the first one.

I am now quite close to finish my Secret and get to share what’s “in the box”.
I have decided though that I would not mind using another one or two sooc images by other photographers so here is a second chance for you who were one just a minute too late …

The image(s) I am looking for need to be filled with Love .. preferably not just a close up head shot …

First two people who send the link via the contact form will in exchange gain access to my “secret”.
I will get back to you via email with the details.

this is my great grand father … a very talented musician who had to go and fight in WWII .. he never returned but left a great gift to me … my lovely grandmother:

I have always loved this image …. even as a little girl .. each time coming to my grandparents house I would beg my nanna to open the album and tell me all about it ….

The thing about photography in the past that I have realized is that most of the time they used low f-stop so people usually had to stop and just for the one moment in their being BE what they are for the one who photographed them …

These days we have cameras that freeze a moment faster than a second some cameras shoot even several frames per second .. this brings a whole new dimension to the way we capture our subjects …

anyway … here I will stop and get back to being mum for today …. waiting for your reply :)

    What amazing photographs.. when I was a little girl I used to spend hours going through my grandmothers box of old photographs.. I used to beg to see the photos from what I apparently called “the yellow days” because when I was small I didnt comprehend that the world was in color back then as well.. I thought the world had a sepia tone and wasnt really sure when it all became color but my grandmothers photos were such a treat.. to see them the relatives some gone some not.. to hear the stories behind the photos or behind the relatives in the photos was always a treat for me.. maybe thats in part where my passion for photography came from.. My grandmother has been gone 12 years now. I miss her every day.. I would love to see those old photos again.. my aunt seems to have them and for whatever reason no matter how many times I ask to borrow the box she never gives it up.. I should ask again… anyway.. thanks for sharing your old photos they are wonderful.

Bohemian Secret

or maybe not … just things one learns as one goes …
I have been asked many times … HOW .. how do I do it? How do I achieve my black and whites …
and I have always said …. well I don’t know it just happens …

I took a time to think … I took a time to create ..

I thought about how to share the secret …

1. just FEEL … and trust your feelings …
2. don’t be afraid :)
3. dodge and burn as much as you feel and are not afraid … but keep in mind to preserve the detail …
4. yes the detail … is very important … but more and again … the Feel …

I have been quiet for the last few weeks .. trying to create tools for those who would like to explore .. who would like to travel times and explore space of Fine Art black and white …

I am still working on the details of getting the result out there …. but mean time … First photographer who is willing to share their SOOC image that he/she feels would be great in B&W with me .. will be the first to experience The Bohemian’s Secret … just send me a link to your image using the contact form on this blog .. and in the next few days I will get back to you with the details …

I could not wait ..

.. to finally meet her .. after all those years .. it felt like home entering her lovely house that I knew only from her words .. the little wild garden with thick green luscious grass and blooming fruit trees …
I always experience that amazing sensation of we must have spoken yesterday when talking to her … and she would always tell me: meet you half the milkyway .. and so we used to … .. and have remained connected …
So many times I wondered how it will be when we finally meet again … and when it happened it just was just like that. Really like if we said goodbye the day before .. except my boys and her little girl running around and exploring the world … ( well and maybe few wrinkles here and there .. )

I was “tagged” by one of my favorites color masters Sam Pearce
here are the rules:

1. I love owls .. since I was a little girl I always loved owls …

2. I still keep my secret notes and emotionally important messages (like self written poems LOL) in a book of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales

3. my favorite color is vanilla

4. I used to recite poems when I was 18months .. my grand dad liked to show me off and people thought I am a dwarf person :D

5. Apart of photography I can teach “newborn and baby swimming”

6. when I was in grade 2 and got my first mark as 2 (well kind of B here and in America) I cried shamefully in the classroom .. my teacher took me outside of th room trying to find out why I am so upset .. I told her my grandma is sick :D

7. I’m hopeless with keeping signing and reading any kind of kinder and school notes … not wondering where does this feature come from when looking at my sons .. LOL as well as wondering how do I get away with these things all the time … (much love to you Catherine, Trish, Megan and Nicole <<< the lovely teachers of my lovely children)

Little people BIG stories

and I guess deep inside you all know what it is about.
One of my favorites Czech books is Bohumil Hrabal’s Little pearl at the bottom … a compilation of stories talking about ordinary people and their ordinary lives … yet seeing all the extraordinary moments in their living and greatness of each and everyone’s being ..
For many each and every child and person that I capture and share pictures of may seem just one of many … and in a way it is … but when going deep into the moment .. each and every child and person that I capture is the most special one in the Universe .. and when listening to them .. their smile .. silence .. or just look … one can hear and feel the most amazing stories …
This little boy’s laugh so much reminded me of A. de Saint Exupery’s Little Prince … I will forever remember the sound of his ringing laugh when he was climbing a pile of topsoil and realized I see him … At the time I photographed him .. he was here in Australia for only few weeks … discovering all about his new home …. the opened heart he shared with me was the most special experience in the moment …
