Lightroom Presets in the Store

finally … for those interested .. the Lightroom Presets are available at my store. Unlike any other presets  Bohemian Secret Presets are not a matter of one click ..  the image looks awful what next …  I have developed them so most of the exposure settings are covered as well as the light conditions ..   The presets are based  on the original Bohemian Secret Actions (all inspired by film days)  You can mix and match presets and apply some over others … I have included few tint options as well as vignettes that can be applied on any basic conversions  you choose for your image. You can then go further and if you own BS PS Actions you can use those to fine tune whatever is needed in Adobe PS

Here is  an example of what you can do with these. The image is a courtesy of my little sister who photographed this beautiful Bedouin girl on her  travels in Egypt.   I have only applied  underexposed preset with lighten over and slightly adjusted brightness and contrast …

Bohemian Secret Lightroom Presets

After the amount of  emails asking me for Lightroom presets I have decided to develop them. It was a bit of a challenge .. to keep the feel and to achieve the Bohemian Secret look as well as cover as most exposure settings  as well as lighting … The Presets are being designed to help you control your conversion as much as possible .. speed up your workflow yet preserve the excitement of a B&W image being born. I have tried to keep them simple yet flexible for you to achieve the best …. There are about 57 presets divided into 11 sets  organized by the light adjustments needed ..

The presets are being tested now and I will have to get instruction manual ready as well as prepare a nice way of presenting them on my site. But I thought a little sneak a peak and a teaser for those curious will be a nice thing.

About music (and me)

music is a big part of my and my family’s being … it has all started when I was little girl .. as little as the one here in the picture … and I had a big dream .. to play piano .. or even better violin …
my life went all sorts of kinds of ways though … and I never got to play anything … I still remember the moment when I was eleven and we went for a concert with our school …
We had a chance to ask a question to the musicians … I still can feel my heart pounding when raising my hand and then if front of the whole theater audience asking a question … “Is it too late to start learning violin at 11?” .. well even after that I did not get to play anything ..
it was about 16years later .. after months of me taking my boys to music classes that I realized … hang on .. I can do it myself … being 27 I started to learn how to play violin .. and yes … it’s never too late :)

My dream has fulfilled … regardless age .. looking at this picture .. it’s almost me .. standing there .. with a violin :)

sometimes I look at them … and it feels like my hearts stops for a beat … but theirs fills in for that moment … them being part of me …

when they are born we look at them and wonder .. who do they look like .. and one moment it is mum .. then dad … for a second a grandad or grandma …
for me it is that they process everything they are for all the generations before them … then they become them .. their I that constantly grows and grows … but if I stop for a moment .. and watch … I can see … the I of me .. and of the ancestors …

I love those me moments in them … sometimes it can be a very sad moment that their body knows because I have lived it … sometimes a fraction of a happy memory from my childhood ..

how beautiful he is .. how beautiful I am …

his very first toothfairy visit ..

his piano teacher promised … when you are seven I am sure the tooth fairy will come … and she did …
mom .. mom .. he yelled .. the tooth fairy has come .. she came and left a coin under my pillow .. his whole little body was shaking with excitement .. she left me 2dollars under the pillow .. I got a golden coin but Lola got a silver one .. how come ??
(yes he still loves Charlie and Lola) and he told me the night before that he is going to dream happy dreams so the tooth fairy will know .. and that I am not suppose to tell them as if I do she will not come … I have kept my promise

What a big moment for a seven year old .. and it is his show and tell day today ..

and to my lovely American readers … especially for you .. two sets of American Secret Tickets coming out soon … :) (still trying hard to keep the promise and have the Bohemian Secret affordable as much as it can be )

nothing stays sacred

first time he surprised me he was about 5months old .. and he crawled the length of about 8metres along the hallway to look for his older brothers in a room where they hid … at six months he started sharing kisses and waving goodbye
another surprise came at about 9months when he started playing with a marble run … after watching his oldest brother .. he put the marble on the top and watched it drop down … I though what a coincidence but not .. he did it over and over ..
it’s been 2weeks and three days that he has turned 1year … I heard someone blowing a recorder and went to remind the person that it’s a musical instrument not a blow whistle … well it was our lovely Selwyn .. I don’t get surprised much anymore … nothing stays sacred for him
.. but I thought I share this one … he pushed the stool to the bench in order to get what he wanted … no yummy broccoli no no … strawberry jam my dear … that’s something .. (how did he know .. I have no idea because he never got any before) well that’s about 12months and 17days today … I am sure there is more to come with this one ..

for those patiently waiting for the Secret … watch out .. it’s coming soon .. very soon ..

The Journey

Thank you everyone who stopped by and left a comment or send me a private message or email .. I got overwhelmed with your heartful response and still have lots of emails and messages to answer.

Thank you Rosie for sharing your SOOC image with me. I feel very honored and happy to be able to use it. … by the time I woke up I found many offers in my mailbox. To be fair I have opened only the first one.

I am now quite close to finish my Secret and get to share what’s “in the box”.
I have decided though that I would not mind using another one or two sooc images by other photographers so here is a second chance for you who were one just a minute too late …

The image(s) I am looking for need to be filled with Love .. preferably not just a close up head shot …

First two people who send the link via the contact form will in exchange gain access to my “secret”.

this is my great grand father … a very talented musician who had to go and fight in WWII .. he never returned but left a great gift to me … my lovely grandmother:

I have always loved this image …. even as a little girl .. each time coming to my grandparents house I would beg my nanna to open the album and tell me all about it ….

The thing about photography in the past that I have realized is that most of the time they used low f-stop so people usually had to stop and just for the one moment in their being BE what they are for the one who photographed them …

These days we have cameras that freeze a moment faster than a second some cameras shoot even several frames per second .. this brings a whole new dimension to the way we capture our subjects …

anyway … here I will stop and get back to being mum for today …. waiting for your reply :)
